As a member of the LCF High Performance Computing \(HPC\) team, you will participate in the technical operation, support and continued development of the first class HPC facilities of the LCF division and laboratory in order toenhancethe productivity of the scientific staff and research colleagues of the division\. With the LCF technical staff and colleagues at other labs and universities, you will assist with the coordination of similar systems\. + You need a Bachelor’s Degree and 4\+ years or experience or a graduate degree and 2\+ years of experience\.
+ Problem solving skills\.
+ Knowledge and expertise in UNIX systems administration, with emphasis on Linux\.
+ Proficient with systems administration tools and languages, such as Perl, Python, C, PHP and shell scripts\.
+ Expertise ininstallation, configuration,and management of large numbers of computers\.
+ Experience with installation, managementand use ofsoftware such as compilers, scientific applications and job resource managers\.
+ Work withtechnologies such asTCP/IP and related protocols; networked file systems, including NFS\.
+ Ability towork effectivelyas a member of a team\.
+ Communicate well with people ofdiverse backgroundsand computer knowledge\.
+ Flexibilityin dealing with assignments and in working on several projectssimultaneously,often with frequent interruptions\.
+ You will be able to complete tasks with minimal direct supervision\.
+ Knowledge of internet resources, facilities, activities and techniques\.
+ Experience with theinstallation, configuration,management,and use ofhigh performance computers such as clusters of Linux boxes, large SMPs and hybrids\.
+ Good knowledge of parallel and cluster filesystems such as PVFS, Lustre, GPFS and GFS, high performance networkingtechnologies such asMyrinet and Infiniband,and use ofMPI implementations such as MPICH and LAMS\.
+ Familiarity with the hardware and software of mass storage systems\.
