Relevant Work Experience Requirements:1 to 3 Years
In this job you will be setting up and operating a variety of numerically controlled machines including turning centers, vertical and horizontal machining centers. Duration of set-ups varies from 1 to 3 hours. Once set-up, running times vary depending on the job order. You will be working in a production environment where all jobs have a measured standard production rate and you will be responsible for the quality of your work. Most tasks require good hand/eye coordination and the full range motion of both hands and arms on a regular and repetitive basis.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
+ Handling of piece parts ranging in weight from 1lb. to 25 lbs.
+ Deburring and cleaning of parts using various hand and power tools such as a belt sander or drill press.
+ Inspection of parts visually and using various measurement tools such as height gauges and verniers.
Enrollment and successful completion of courses offered at S&C through S&C Continuous Improvement Institute are expected.
To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:
+ Demonstrated ability to read basic blueprints and follow specific instructions and procedures.
+ Ability to organize, prioritize and plan daily work assignments in a self-directed changing environment.
+ Knowledge of shop math.
+ Ability to use measuring equipment such as height gauges or verniers.
+ Understanding of metal-cutting applications and machine practices.

Set-up and operation of numerically controlled machines.

+ Standing: Most tasks performed in a standing position.
+ Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 1lb. to 25 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
+ Walking: Occasional walking short distances (less than 1/8 mile.)
+ Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 1lb. to 50 lbs.
+ Pushing: Occasional pushing of part containers with manual hand truck.
+ Pulling: Occasional pulling of part containers with manual hand truck.
+ Bending: Occasional bending and crouching required to perform job tasks.
+ Reaching: Frequent reaching required to move parts from machine to tubs
+ Handling: Continuous handling of piece parts ranging in size from 1lb. to 25 lbs. along with a variety of hand tools.
