Job Description

As a Sr. Global Actuarial Analyst, you will work as part of a team to provide consulting advice and services to multinational companies concerning retirement as well as broader HR benefits and compensation issues for their operations globally. You will serve as a key resource for consultants in charge of engagements by performing many intricate aspects of their client work. As you grow and gain more expertise, you will become a key contact for the client and will begin taking on a larger project manager role within the team

Operating in the global market place means multinational companies face a variety of different business, cultural, language and regulatory environments. Our Global Services and Solutions (GSS) line of business helps these companies navigate the challenges of multi country complexity based on context knowledge of trends and innovative multi – client solutions. In particular, we help multinational companies develop global/cross-border solutions that meet the needs of both local and headquarter management in the design, establishment, financing, operation, oversight and monitoring of their compensation and benefit programs around the world. In doing so, we work closely with our local offices in other geographies, as well as subject matter experts in other segments.

The Role

+ Begin to serve as the project manager and main liaison to the consultant which includes:

+ Creating project plans

+ Monitoring progress to deadlines and budget

+ Scheduling and managing weekly/bi-weekly status meeting call

+ Ensuring appropriate and effective communication among team members and the client

+ Deliver work in accordance to project deadlines

+ Deliver on projects to meet or exceed client expectations

+ Increase efficiency within client teams by identifying ways to improve processes

+ Serve as a resource and liaise effectively with colleagues and clients regarding data collection, analyses, and project execution required for:

+ accounting for pension and benefit costs

+ actuarial valuations

+ retirement plan benefit calculations and statements

+ Complete analyses required for special projects including mergers and acquisitions, benefit plan strategy and design, plan management and governance strategy, and global financing and funding policies

+ Prepare the first draft of deliverables for review by the consultant

+ Seek and participate in key learning and development opportunities/maintain steady progress through exams

+ Contribute to the development of new tools and approaches, including monitoring and analyzing economic conditions in major markets around the world and updating country profiles

+ Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional and global teams

+ Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels

+ Meet chargeable hours targets

+ Contribute to sales and marketing efforts by drafting proposals and responding to RFPs

The Requirements

+ 3+ years of experience performing core valuation work in a client service oriented environment with corporate defined benefit and/or group health plans

+ Experience working on global HR benefit programs; alternatively, experience working on domestic benefits or compensation programs and a demonstrated interest in international issues

+ Well organized and detail oriented

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills

+ Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues; strong client service orientation

+ Ability to work both independently and on client teams and enjoy a fast-paced environment

+ Self starter; interest in continually challenging oneself and willingness to step outside of one’s comfort zone

+ Interest and ability to think beyond the task at hand and understand how one’s work fits into the broader landscape

+ Strong analytical and integrative skills including ability to draw conclusions and identify trends from data in a logical, systematic way

+ Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Access and Excel

+ Bachelors Degree required

+ Actuarial exam progress toward ASA credentials

+ Experience living and working overseas and foreign language skills preferred but not essential
