The Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Systems Section of the Energy Systems Division at Argonne National Laboratory has an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Appointee\.
In this role you will:
+ Engage in programs involving expertise in thermal\-hydraulics modeling, chemical reaction engineering, electrochemical systems, system analysis, design of advanced energy conversion systems for stationary and transportation applications, and nuclear/chemical waste processing\.
+ Work in developing analytical techniques and software relevant to ongoing programs\.
+ Interpret analytical and experimental results and relate them to physical phenomena and engineering\.
+ Prepare progress reports\.
+ Participate in and make technical presentations to the technical community\.
We expect you to have:
+ Knowledge of chemical and thermal processes\.
+ Knowledge of electrochemical systems\.
+ Knowledge of analyses of components and energy conversion systems\.
+ Knowledge of computational techniques and numerical methods\.
+ Knowledge of computer simulation and data analysis\.
+ Knowledge of C/C\ language and parallel programming with MPI\.
+ Background in modeling of engineering systems\.
+ Expertise in high performance computing \(HPC\) software platforms\.
+ Ability to develop, optimize, test and run large\-scale parallel applications on HPC systems\.
+ Hands\-on skills with X\-ray computed tomography\.
+ Knowledge in image processing and statistical analysis of microscopy images\.
+ Skill in using computer software such as COMSOL, StarCCM\+, Matlab, Simulink, Python and Excel\.
+ Strong oral and written communications and presentations skills\.
+ These levels of knowledge and skills are typically achieved through formal education to the level of Ph\.D\. \(or equivalent\) in chemical or mechanical engineering, or an associated field\.
