Job Description

MERS/ Goodwill is looking for passionate, high-energy individuals for Job Coaching positions at our Belleville/Alton location. Job Coaches help serve our mission by assisting our clients with maintaining employment in the community. This position requires travel to our client’s work sites especially; a valid driver’s license and independent transportation are required.

Essential/Primary Functions:

+ Assist individuals with disabilities to maintain employment in the Edwardsville community.

+ Work alongside consumer as needed to assist with meeting employer expectations with regards to task completion and speed

+ Continue to provide training to improve consumer work performance after employer’s training period has ended

+ Problem solve to create accommodations or other ways to address performance issues

+ Support consumers to develop and maintain relationships with co-workers and supervisors

+ Develop and maintain natural supports on the job and establish working relationships with the supervisor(s)

Qualifications:

+ High School or equivalency required. AA/AS in Social Work or related field preferred and 2 years of relevant work experience required.

+ Excellent time management and written/verbal communication skills required, as well as experience with individuals with disabilities.

+ Valid drivers license, current auto insurance, and independent transportation required.
