Your Role and Responsibilities

The Metadata Management Developer will be responsible for defining and implementing the metadata management strategy for the Government Health & Human service projects.

You will partner closely with the Metadata Architect for defining what metadata is captured in order to support the development and implementation of the data warehouse.

Must be able to work at the Smryna, GA project site.**

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

+ Define the types of metadata that will be captured and shared on the GA EDS Project, including business, technical, and operational metadata

+ Worked with defining the metadata management standards and disseminate this information out to the business and technical communities who will be capturing and creating metadata.

+ Identify automated and manual ways for sharing metadata between the various tool sets such as the data modeling tools, the data dictionary, Business Intelligence Tools and ETL tools.

+ Manage the various metadata repositories that will be used on the project.

+ Provide instruction and guidance on the metadata tools to the business and technical communities

+ Monitor the quality of the metadata that is captured to ensure that it is meeting standards, and report on this quality to client and technical leads.

+ Work closely with the Data Governance Lead, Data Integration Lead, and the GA DCH Enterprise Data Governance Committee to ensure that the definition and implementation for metadata standards meet the needs of the GA EDS Project.

Required Professional and Technical Expertise

+ Two to four years of experience with data modeling tools such as Erwin

+ Two to four years of experience with data lineage and ETL tools such as Informatica Metadata Manager

+ One to two years of experience with IDQ.

+ Two to four years of experience with Cognos and SAS business intelligence tools

+ Two to four years of experience in sharing metadata between the metadata repositories

+ Four to five years of previous work experience as a data modeler.

+ Two to four years of experience defining metadata standards.

Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise

+ Informatica Metadata Manager experience in capturing of business and technical metadata definition

+ Three plus years’ experience defining and establishing metadata management processes within an enterprise.

+ BA/BS degree or equivalent preferred (computer science, information systems, etc.)
