Description

Position Purpose:

To assist with the oversight, coordination, management, support, documentation and field reporting for all aspects of electrical construction for wind farms to include foundations, wind turbine generators, electrical collection and substations at interconnections, and overhead and underground transmission and distribution services

Responsibilities:

+ Assist with the daily job reporting, job books, accounting, reporting of project costs, forecasting, customer billing, scheduling, material procurement, record keeping, document control, QA/QC documentation and budgeting

+ Support project engineering activities and contract requirements

+ Provide technical and engineering support for all aspects of electrical construction for wind farms

+ Assist with the development, updating and tracking of key performance and financial metrics that will optimize performance, productivity and reduce costs.

+ Assist in the preparation of proposals, estimates and change orders including drawing take-offs.

+ Work with Project Supervision to set up job structure from beginning i.e. safety, scheduling, subcontractor management, permitting, document control plan, cost codes, job cost spread, material/tooling plan and billing.

+ Assist in job hand off from estimating to field project supervision.

+ Work with Project Supervision to set up and attend Local Union Business Manager meeting and applicable trades meetings

+ Work with Project Supervision on schedule, layout and change orders

+ Work with purchasing on material orders and required submittals

+ Provide weekly updates on project supervision as needed

+ Assist with quoting change orders from drawing changes and RFI’s

+ Work with customer and field management on schedule development and assist in maintaining during course of project

+ Ensure the project has adequate resources to maintain schedule, budget and exceed safety expectations

+ Ensure all paperwork and administrative tasks such as Safety Plans, Environmental Plans, JSA’s, Inspection/Testing Results, Progress Reports, Daily Job Journals, RFI’s, Restraints, Timesheets, Extra Work Reports, Purchase Orders, Packing Slips, Tool Reports, etc. are properly maintained and routed

+ Proactively and timely identifies and communicates project related issues or gaps to project supervision

+ Catalog, update and maintain project drawings to include As-Builts and assist with preparing turnover package to the client or owner

Qualifications:

+ Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

+ Ability to anticipate and meet internal customer needs

+ Proven communication, organizational and interpersonal skills

+ Ability to maintain confidentiality

+ Extensive computer skills including familiarity with Primavera, Access, Excel

Education:

+ BS/BA in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, IT or related field.

Experience:

1-2 years of Project Management, Engineering, IT, Construction Management or related experience in a heavy industrial electrical construction environment.
