The Electrical Engineering Program at Eastern Illinois University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Electrical Engineering starting in August 2020, subject to available funding.
Eastern Illinois University (EIU) is a comprehensive state university in a community of 20,000 in east central Illinois. Enrollment at the university is 7,000 and growing. As a primarily undergraduate teaching institution, EIU is dedicated to quality teaching in small class settings. The Electrical Engineering (EE) program is a newly established program within the Physics Department. We seek a highly-motivated candidate who can assist in the growth of the new EE program.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach upper-level undergraduate courses in electrical engineering, as well as introductory-level undergraduate courses in physics. Teaching loads may include three lecture/lab classes per semester. In addition, developing upper-level labs for the EE curriculum, mentoring undergraduate students in engineering-related research, and contributing to the ABET accreditation process are expected.
