Job Description

Direct Network Operations Center, Database administration team and teams that support them. Lead team in a deep dive on software application and database related issues. Develop and implement processes and standards adhering to industry best practices. Ensure integrity, reasonable response times and availability of IT Service Desk, Network Operations Center and IT support functions. Collaborate with other IT leaders in discussions with end users to analyze needs and ensure IT operations and services are optimized to support business processes. Identify potential end user customer service enhancements. Evaluate Service Level Agreements (SLA) data and identify and oversee implementation of improvement opportunities. Ensure different teams work with customers on external facing B2B products/platform software and database issues to understand their requirements for software products, to manage and deliver the products smoothly, and to promote automation. Train teams to work strategically and tactically. Lead and mentor managers. Provide direction through development plans. Supervise IT staff. Technical environment: J2EE, Java, Javascript, JDBC, XML, Style Sheets, EJB, JMS, Webservices, Ant Scripting, Agile, JAXB, Oracle SQL, Oracle, Database Design, ETL, UNIX shell scripting, JSP, AJAX, JSF, Struts, Unix/Linux, Eclipse, JDeveloper, SVN, ClearCase, Maven, ANT, Continuous Integration (Hudson, Jenkins), Test Driven Development, JUnit, Spring/Hibernate, SOA, design Patterns, Database Centric Processing (related to scalability), cloud-based technologies, RDBMS, Hadoop/NoSQL. * Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or any Engineering field plus five years of experience in the job offered or as a software engineer or manager required Required Skills: Experience overseeing, directing, coaching a staff of software development professionals, talking with customers on software and database issues to understand their requirement and creating skills to build use cases for collision estimating software products for insurance appraisers, building reports for predictive analysis; work across different teams (workflow development, customer facing application development, multiple operations team) to manage and deliver the products for better transition after software product delivery and achieve smooth support; building frameworks to promote automation; working strategically and tactically (holistic approach focusing on long-term goals); operating cloud-based technologies, RDBMS, Hadoop/NoSQL, J2EE, Java, Javascript, JDBC, XML, EJB, JMS, Webservices, Ant Scripting, Agile, providing high level technical designs for high volume scalable architecture for external facing B2B products/platform built from scratch, and with Oracle, Database Design, ETL, UNIX shell scripting. (* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any Engineering field plus seven years of progressive experience in the job offered or as a software engineer or manager also acceptable.)
