Job Description

This is a great opportunity for somebody that is looking to get well-rounded experience! Ability to work in chemistry and microbial.

Every day, Kelly Scientific Resources connects scientific professionals with opportunities to advance their careers, and we currently have a contract-to-hire opening for a QA Lab Technician in Skokie, IL.

Responsibilities:

+ Responsible for all Analytical and microbial testing on raw, processed, finished ingredients finished stock, retains

+ Analytical and identification determinations using various lab instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, Infrared Spectrophotometer, UV/Vis, Karl Fisher

+ Swabbing, sterility tests, conducts environmental sampling and testing of ambient air, compressed air, and process water

+ Calibration of instruments and standardization of solutions

+ Prepares reagents and tests media as directed

+ Perform finished stock evaluations

+ Performs general laboratory duties

+ Adjust finished ingredient batches

+ Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

+ Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field

+ Must have working experience in a similar environment

+ Strong analytical skills, mathematical skills

+ Basic computer skills such as Word, Excel, and Access

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ Ability to handle pressure and demonstrate flexibility

+ Able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills

+ Ability to prioritize handling of situation

+ Must have a positive attitude

+ Ability to test in an organized approach (grouping like test) to maximize testing efficiency

+ Ability to interpret test data and report suspect findings to the Chemist/Supervisor

+ Ability to work with minimum supervision, including overtime

Must be able to work any shift.

+ st shift (Monday-Friday 6:30am-2:30pm)

Pay: $15/hr (pay increase at time of hire with multiple incentives to continue to get pay increases within the first 18 months!)
