Job Description

Sauk Valley Community College invites innovative individuals for a faculty opening. This is a tenure track, nine-month position that is available fall 2019. Salary is based on education and experience and may be augmented by summer teaching and overload opportunities. The College offers a liberal fringe benefits package and does not deduct FICA from paychecks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The faculty member may teach courses on campus, off campus (clinical), and on the internet. This position will also provide input to program and course development, as well as other curriculum initiatives. The faculty member will also serve on campus committees and have the option of serving in the role of faculty advisor to associated student clubs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in Nursing, licensed (or eligible for licensure) as a Registered Nurse in Illinois as well as two years of clinical nursing practice is required; two years of teaching experience preferred. A strong background of medical/surgical nursing strongly desired as well as community,and public health helpful. Evidence of support for the mission of a comprehensive community college. Appreciation for teamwork and excellent oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of alternative teaching/learning options, curriculum design and evaluation, and ability to contribute to instructional vitality and growth.
