Job Description

Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a Senior Manager, National Consulting, Corporate Development in Chicago, IL and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally.

Work You’ll Do
Leading and supporting the evaluation and analysis of acquisitions and other large-scale investments. Targeting and screening potential acquisitions. Developing strategic rationale for investment (market analysis, competitive analysis, business model development). Leading the development of financial business cases for investment purposes. Leading commercial due diligence for potential acquisitions. Developing and articulating future-state operating models for practice areas post-investment. Acting as a trusted advisor to business leaders throughout the investment process. Working with practice leaders to refine, prioritize and roadmap growth priorities. With support from Corporate Development leaders, managing the acquisition process from priority setting through investment approval, driving an orderly handoff to a full-time Post-Merger Integration (PMI) team. Structuring executive strategy presentations to present a compelling analysis and case for/against investment. Applying strategic frameworks and analysis to evaluate business problems, leveraging knowledge in logical structuring, hypothesis based analysis, and common methods and tools for integrating business data.

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering (any), CIS, MIS or a related field.
• Six years of progressively responsible experience in the offered position or a related occupation.
• Must have six years of experience with:
o Assessing technology ecosystems for emerging vendors and technology innovations to determine vendors for strategic partnerships and go-to market initiatives;
o Assessing maturity of current capabilities across technology, process, and talent, and determining capability gaps as part of planning technology-enabled business transformation initiatives;
o Analyzing build v. buy v. partner options for technology solutions based on cost, time to market, risks, talent, and ability to differentiate;
o Developing business cases to justify technology investments by quantifying projected business benefits and total cost of ownership;
o Developing roadmaps for implementing technology capabilities including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) as part of business transformation initiatives;
o Translating business capabilities into enterprise software modules of solutions including SAP ERP;
o Reviewing technical architecture of software assets to assess quality of software platform and extensibility to future business needs.
• In the alternative, employer will accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in a stated field and four years of experience.
• Any suitable combination of education, training or experience acceptable.
• 80% travel required.
