Electric Systems is looking for a Project Engineer to work with a multi-disciplined, technical team in the design and development of aircraft engine mounted primary power generators, auxiliary generators CSD’s and IDG’s (Integrated Drive Generators). The preferred candidate will have a track record of leading teams, project management, technical communication experience, and analytical problem solving skills.
+ Responsible for managing the program technical performance of a design team (6 – 8 team members)
+ Responsible of project and technical oversight.
+ Interfacing with management, suppliers, customers, and members of the technical design team
+ Project planning including budget and schedule reviews and approval with functional design and program management
+ Supporting project milestones and deliverables to meet program business plan
+ Provide timely and effective communication to management and internal customers
+ Lead engineering teams on investigations to establish root cause, and implement appropriate corrective actions
+ Develop update and implement standard work, tools and processes throughout the design, development and qualification program
+ Lead by example the use of ACE tools and standard work for continuous improvement
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a similar discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in Engineering or a similar discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
+ Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams
+ Progression in design, test, and fabrication of mechanical systems
+ Experience with technologies related to specifically power systems, generators, pumps, gears, and transmissions
+ Experience in ACE Tools and/or Design for Six Sigma, particularly DOE
+ Experience in utilizing Microsoft Project, Excel, Power Point software
+ Demonstrated ability to prepare and execute to a program plan
+ This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a similar discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in Engineering or a similar discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
