Plan, direct, or coordinate operations in the R&D and Innovation. Duties include 3rd party management, process optimization, resource planning, communication, project monitoring and controlling.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Develop and maintain key processes and management/operational activities including identifying best practices for R&D and Innovation.
+ Develop communication tools to ensure accomplishments, success stories, technical challenges, expectations, etc. be appropriately communicated.
+ Develop and maintain processes to support R&D and Innovation activities and deliver to R&D projects. Critical liaison with Project Managers and functional departments.
+ Monitor 3rd party engagements
+ Prepare quarterly updates for upper management
+ Track top priority projects and Global R&D initiatives
+ Identify, monitor and mitigate key project risks
+ Help define and monitor project/program scope, milestones, key decisions, key tasks, next steps, budget and resources, and accomplishments
+ Escalate project slippage or potential project slippage
+ . Develop a mechanism to integrate existing and newly recruited staff into a cohesive functional unit
+ Resources planning
+ Budget planning and tracking activities
+ Prioritize work and communicate to other dependent functions
+ Develop and maintain a process to network of academic/industry/contract partners as necessary for R&D and Innovation.
+ Manage Direct Reports
+ Must have demonstrated excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
+ Customer orientation, teamwork skills and the ability to actively commit to support and participate in continuous improvement activities are necessary for success in this position.
+ Must also be results driven and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree, with 3 – 5 years leadership experience in a customer facing department.
