We are seeking an Engineering Manager to join Ameresco’s Central Team to lead engineering efforts for innovative energy efficiency projects and renewable energy project in the greater Chicago, IL area.
Responsibilities

Provide engineering support and cost estimation for proposal development;

Provide engineering analysis and design services for large scale mechanical projects;

Manage the Engineering Team to provide on-time delivery of services;

Schedule team resources to meet project demands;

Review all design work and construction submittals for quality assurance and compliance;

Manage outside design engineering firms providing consulting services to the Engineering Team;

Budget, track, and manage engineering costs and overall project costs;

Participate actively in developing sales strategy and qualifying potential projects;

Assist in creation of compelling sales presentations;

Coordinate the development interface with project management and operations teams to assure customer satisfaction;

Ensure compliance with company, industry, and regulatory safety, standards, and protocols;

Cultivate and foster positive business relationships with all parties;

Perform other duties as required by your supervisor.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

BS in Mechanical Engineering or energy infrastructure-related four year technical engineering degree.

Advanced Engineering degree or MBA desirable. PE License required, CEM desirable.

Minimum of 10 years technical engineering, design, ESCO, and/or consulting experience developing and implementing multi-million dollar energy efficiency or construction projects.

Detailed knowledge of central plant operation and design.

Additional Preferred Requirements:

Demonstrated ability to analyze and quantify energy and operational needs, use, and savings projections for energy savings performance contracts.

Excellent verbal, written, computer, technical communication and presentation skills required.

Excellent working knowledge of building automation and energy management systems, facility operations, and installation projects involving chiller and boiler plants, motors, VFDs, HVAC retrofit, building automation, energy conservation, or distributed generation projects.

Proven experience with building simulation, project estimating, measurement and verification.

Financial planning and budget experience, with ability to develop a business case.

Advanced proficiency with MS Office.

Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and business relationships.

Valid Drivers’ License issued by state of residence and in good standing.

Limited travel required.
