Position Description: Oversee the development and acquisition of utility-scale wind, solar, storage, and natural gas energy projects. Work on a cross-functional team, collaborating with multiple departments across the organization and external stakeholders. Oversee project developments in wind, solar, storage and thermal in Latin America. Identify development prospects, including market assessments, fatal flaw identification and initial site reconnaissance and present relevant data to senior management. Represent Invenergy LLC with customers, landowners, state/provincial and local officials and other stakeholders. Drive/support complex negotiations and create solutions to project specific problems and challenges. Coordinate cross-functional internal diligence efforts for acquisition opportunities and present business cases to management. Manage and build valuation models, analyzing the economic merits and risks associated with wind, solar and natural gas projects. Work with Project Managers to ensure timely development of projects and meeting all project milestones. Coordinate with internal employees, as well as consultants and external parties providing advice for project development/management. 15% international travel required.
Position Qualifications: Applicant must possess a Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or in a related field and 3 years of experience in a sales or business development role within the energy/utilities industry. Additionally, the applicant must have professional experience in the following: 1.) Financial modeling using Microsoft Excel, and proven ability to analyze and deliver reports to senior management based on said models; 2.) Presenting relevant investment decisions and justifying utility-scale investment opportunities to C-Level Executives, encompassing all aspects of energy project development characteristics including, but not limited to: permitting, project finance, resource estimates, legal matters, engineering details, contracting status, etc.; 3.) Negotiating and management all contracts associated with a power generation project development, including but not limited to: power purchase agreements, sales and purchase agreements, EPC agreements, land contracts, project finance documents, etc.; 4.) Research of energy market and environment in LatAm on energy market regulations, electrical commercial analytics, and power purchase agreements; 5.) Negotiate contracts with and manage third party consultants in order to provide all relevant support for energy project development; and 6.) Leading cross-functional teams to develop or manage energy projects, including but not limited to: accounting, accounts payable (AP), legal, treasury, HR, operations and maintenance, engineering, project management, land acquisition, commercial transactions, and commercial analytics. This position also requires proficiency in the foreign language: Spanish.
