Position will be assigned to 1st shift (5:00 AM – 3:30 PM), or 2nd shift (4:00 PM – 2:30 AM). Work days are 10-hours, Sunday thru Wednesday, or Wednesday thru Saturday. Overtime based on seasonal or operating circumstances may be required.

Overview

The Automation Tech I assists in the completion of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of conveyor systems.
Responsibilities

  • Assists in the electrical and mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting of all conveyor systems
  • Completes all training plans for service technicians
  • Follows all Preventive Maintenance programs
  • Completes all assigned safety training
  • Complies with all safety programs, policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent; degree from vocational school or college with focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of apprenticeship in the Mechanical or Electrical field or equivalent experience
  • Experience with automated conveyor systems and controls, CMMS programs, preventative maintenance procedures, and industrial electronics
  • Ability to assist in the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of control components – photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, Servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, tachometers. and encoders
  • Ability to execute project tasks assigned
  • Ability to interpret and modify drawings both mechanical and electrical
  • Ability to interpret and understand policies and procedures and relate them to others
  • Project management experience
  • Intermediate computer skills including MS Office
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Customer service orientation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented
  • Team orientation
  • Knowledge of safe industrial work practices
