Manufacturing company seeking a qualified Mechanical Design Engineer. We manufacture mobile cafeteria tables, folding tables, classroom tables, stages and risers primarily for the education industry.

Job Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment to create new product designs and help lead product improvements.

Responsibilities:

Provide mechanical design support for the introduction of new products to the marketplace
Participate in all phases of the product development lifecycle; from concept generation and development, to modeling, testing, validating, and prototype assembly
Undertake projects for existing products to improve functionality and ease of operation or to identify manufacturing efficiencies
Engage with the Purchasing department to establish specifications and requirements for vendors related to new products
Collaborate with the Production team to create prototypes to ensure quality and feasibility of product designs and manufacturing techniques
Research and review product warranty issues and, working with the Engineering team, develop action plans as needed to resolve such issues
Create engineering change orders for new product models, parts, and design updates
Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
5 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Proficient in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office
Working knowledge of AutoCAD
Professional and effective communication, both verbal and written
Exceptional organizational, problem solving and time management skills
Ability to prioritize duties among multiple, concurrent projects
Preferred (not required):

Masters in Mechanical Engineering
Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP)
Knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication processes for steel tubing and sheet metal
