Under the direction of the Patient Foodservice Clinical Supervisor and Patient Food Service Operations Manager, follows established policies and procedures for processing orders for, and distributing patient meal trays and documenting accurate oral and fluid intake. Ambassadors and Call Center Ambassadors are specially trained in Nutrition Therapy to ensure patient choices are compliant with therapeutic orders written by the physician.
Ability to read and to perform Mathematic calculations when preparing assessment of patients’ oral intake and Nutrient limits at a level normally acquired through completion of high school.
Through training and on the job experience, must have the ability to learn nutritional values, therapeutic diets, call center operations, Kitchen operations, department policies and procedures, Regulatory Agency policies and procedures and Medical Center policies and procedures.
Must become proficient in the use of Foodservice Computer and telephone system.
Must be proficient in the use of hand held mobile device ( Ipad or Android Tablet) for taking patient meal orders, Tracking location of patient meal trays and inventorying unit kitchens.
Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with patients and families in communicating basic diet information .
Must be able to communicate professionally with members of The Medical team.
Must be self motivated and possess outstanding customer service and decision making skills.
Must be able to take direction, but work unsupervised a majority of the time.
Excellent communication skills a must.
Analytical skills necessary in order to modify/substitute or prepare patient meal trays when necessary according to dietary restrictions ordered by physicians
