Job Description:
This group leads the IT Procurement function globally for client and provides support to all IT functions within client

Typical Day
There is no 2 typical days in a buyers role in IT Procurement. It includes negotiating with suppliers, gathering internal requirements from BU stakeholders, providing updates to stakeholders, attending regular meetings including staff meetings or stand up meetings with BU, reviewing contracts with internal teams or legal and other ad hoc requests from internal stakeholders

Education Requirements:
• Bachelor degree from a college or university in Business, IT or related field

Technical Skills
• 5-7 years of experience in procurement of IT products and services
• Previous category team and/or product team experience
• Knowledge of IT commodity categories, including software, hardware, SaaS/cloud, telecom and professional services.
• Basic understanding of business and IT strategy/planning and overall understanding of IT solutions, capabilities and project lifecycle

Soft Skills
• Well-developed interpersonal skills are needed in dealing with sensitive issues, developing others, and reaching consensus on specific actions
• Self-starter, able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
• Demonstrated consulting and problem solving skills
• Functional leadership with ability to direct teams, suppliers and customers to solutions
• Analytical, problem solving, and project leadership expertise
• Effective communicator, in written and oral form
• Finely honed negotiation skills, able to interpret, analyze and negotiate contractual cost element
• Maintain knowledge of current IT trends, vendor capabilities and changes within the technology landscape for traditional and emerging solutions
• Manage and optimizing supplier performance including contract compliance, continuous improvement, innovations, and reduction in total cost of ownership
