Our client is an American Fortune 100 corporation which designs, develops, engineers, manufactures, markets and sells machinery, engines, financial products and insurance to customers via a worldwide dealer network. It is the world’s largest construction equipment manufacturer.
Typical Day
There is no typical days in a buyers role in IT Procurement. It includes negotiating with suppliers, gathering internal requirements from BU stakeholders, providing updates to stakeholders, attending regular meetings including staff meetings or stand up meetings with BU, reviewing contracts with internal teams or legal and other ad hoc requests from internal stakeholders

Education Requirements:
Any 4-year degree

Technical Skills
1-3 years of experience in procurement of IT products and services. Negotiation and contract management experience. Previous category team and/or product team experience. A very basic knowledge of IT commodity categories is helpful.

Soft Skills
• Self-starter, able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
• Analytical, problem solving, and project leadership expertise
• Effective communicator, in written and oral form
• Basic knowledge of current IT trends, vendor capabilities and changes within the technology landscape for traditional and emerging solutions.
