Job Details:

+ High School/GED

+ Job Summary:

To maintain a neat and clean environment which is conducive to quality patient care and guest relations for Touchette Regional Regional Hospital. This position typically serves a population of all ages. Housekeeper will have some exposure to Blood-borne Pathogens. Safety equipment and training will be available to reduce exposure. Universal precautions will be used at all times.

Essential Functions and Duties:

Ability to understand basic cleaning principles.

Ability to make decisions independently.

Participates in monthly department meetings, in-services and training programs.

Supports hospital philosophy, mission objectives and personnel policies.

Position Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Must be willing to be cross-trained.

Ability to read and write .

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

Two years of Housekeeping Experience.

Knowledge on how to read MSDS SHEETS.

Have knowledge of Floor Care Techniques.

Function—Duties and Responsibilities:

General Cleaning

All associates always apply the 7-Steps Procedure to area cleaning.

+ Step 1-Pull waste/trash.

+ Step 2-High Dusting-Shoulder lever and above (Mon, Wed, Fri).

+ Step 3-Damp Wipe-Shoulder level and below.

+ Step 4-Dust Mop/Vacuum.

+ Step 5-Clean Restroom.

+ Step 6-Damp Mop with appropriate solution.

+ Step 7-Inspect area after completion.

+ All associates will learn and apply the principles of regular discharges with a 45-minute turnaround.

+ All associates will learn and apply the principles of terminal cleaning with a 55 min turnaround.
