The Department of Health Sciences (HLTH) in the College of Science and Health (CSH) at DePaul University in Chicago invites applications from qualified candidates for a full-time non-tenure-track position to teach laboratory sections associated with our anatomy and physiology courses starting September 1, 2019. HLTH currently serves nearly 800 undergraduate students pursuing a B.S. degree in one of two concentrations: Bioscience and Public Health Studies. Our faculty train students to work collaboratively to address human health from both natural and social scientific perspectives to improve the lives of individuals and communities.

The successful candidate will be broadly trained in anatomy and physiology. Applicants must have a strong commitment to undergraduate education in a diverse environment and an interest in contributing to a growing interdisciplinary major, minors, and department. Evidence of successful teaching in laboratory classrooms is highly desirable.

Teaching responsibilities include laboratory sections for HLTH 301 (Integrated Anatomy and Physiology A), HLTH 302 (Integrated Anatomy and Physiology B), and HLTH 195 (Human Form and Function).The position requires planning of laboratory exercises in conjunction with the course syllabus, set up of laboratories, lecturing and exam preparation, assessment of student work, and participation in curriculum development. Some service to the department, college and university is also expected.

Required Qualifications:

A doctoral degree in fields such as physiology, biological sciences, medicine, anatomy, or a closely related field, graduate-level training in anatomy and physiology, and previous teaching experience is required. Interested candidates should submit a CV, teaching philosophy, and sample teaching evaluations. Review of applications will begin August 12, 2019 and will continue until the position is filled.
