Job Description

Evonik Corporation seeks Sales Manager – Silanes – Midwest Regions (Chicago, IL) to establish and cultivate higher-level contacts for identified key accounts with Silane product applications across multiple market segments. Foster long-term partnerships with the accounts by establishing joint development or non-disclosure agreements and Applied Technology support. Responsible for internal resources necessary to support customer’s requirements for growth. Meet or exceed forecast sales volumes and revenues through the maintenance and development of customer accounts. Responsible for the activity of regional distributors with the Sales Director and support distributor sales representatives periodically. Develop growth strategy and ensure distributors meet annual targets. Introduce new products and applications to the industry. Remain current on the evolving technical and commercial developments to optimize market penetration. Maintain proper and visible corporate image within the region. Develop annual sales budget for assigned region with Sales Director. Participate in overall strategic planning. 50% of international and domestic travel required. Full-time local telecommuting permitted.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or closely related field and one-year experience in a technical sales role; or Bachelor’s degree in these fields and five years of equivalent experience. Requires one-year experience in: adhesives and sealants or coatings market segments; product application of silane modified polymers, silicones, moisture scavengers and adhesion promoters for adhesives and sealants applications; product application of dispersion agents, rheology modifiers and surface modification for coatings applications; sales call reporting, forecasting, technical sales aptitude promoting product values and benefits; introducing new products to market and conducting market analyses such as market trend/information gathering, competitive pricing/product analysis. 50% of international and domestic travel required. Full-time local telecommuting permitted.
