What is Placement?

Field/Clinical Placement is the portion of the program curriculum that requires students to work in their local community to build skills and confidence prior to being independent practioners. A student is not eligible to progress and/or graduate from the program without this field experience.

What does the Placement team do?

The Placement team, Keypath’s newest department, oversees the entire process by building a national network of sites, ensuring the placement and students are compliant and working with the University to promote a quality field experience that meets their existing standards in relation to the governing bodies.

What does a Placement Coordinator do?

As a Placement Coordinator you will spend your day working with students in preparation for their time in field. This means, building personal relationships through placement orientation, learning about their support, schedule and past experience and helping them stay organized so they are compliant and prepared to represent the University within their local communities. While the Coordinator does not find the sites for students, it is their responsibility to communicate site information and requirements to the students as well as track their progression in the rotation. Coordinators are the students primary point of contact for all things Placement.

+ Managing all aspects of placement for our online master’s programs to ensure overall student success in the program.

+ Maintain complete knowledge and understanding of our Partners’ curriculum and programs and clearly explain to clinical partners.

+ Develop and maintain relationships with students to promote solid retention through the placement portion of the student lifecycle

+ Work with the Student Success, University and other relationships to promote an efficient and communicative workplace.

+ Identify and assess concerns related to clinical experiences; facilitate appropriate intervention with faculty and Program Coordinators.

+ Serve as role model for faculty, staff, and students in the areas of customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, attendance, and general professionalism.

+ Use relationship skills in situations requiring group problem solving, consensus building, and win-win negotiation.

Your Experience

+ Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.

+ 3-5 years of successful demonstration of business development and/or sales competencies. Customer service and prior student advising skills helpful.

+ Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

+ Ability to multi-task, strong organizational skills and attention to detail

+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

+ Solid knowledge of or experience working in allied health field, directly with or for providers.

+ Strong presentations skills and the ability to develop relationships via phone and in person.

+ Self-motivated and able to work autonomously, reporting back to a team.
