Responsible for the overall technical aspects of pre-sale activity, including technical presentations, customer requirement gathering, capital requirements, end-to-end SW solution designs and identifying strategic and field trial opportunities. Support sales teams through pre-sales and/or post sales technical consulting activities with focus on Optical Transmission Technology, Private Networking Solutions based on MEF standards and Cloud Solutions. Provide senior expertise to aggressively position new products and lead the strategy and vision of customer accounts; provide specific, senior product technical expertise including customer presentations, lab trials and demonstration support for generally available products; lead the SDN technology introduction and develop solutions for the North America market; develop business cases; understand customer network requirements and provide multivendor solutions to meet those needs; manage complex customer sales opportunities and delivering revenue results; drive technical vision and relationships with customer and work at all levels of customer organization; work as member of team or a lead contributor on assigned accounts and opportunities. Position requires regular travel w/in U.S and occasional international travel. May work remotely, but will report to Naperville, IL headquarters.
