Chicago, IL 60601
Earlier this year, we commissioned an internal initiative to determine the root cause of and recommend remediation initiatives for a series of issues around the tracking and valuation of the inventory and airborne fixed assets. These issues have led to voluminous, manual, and complex fixed asset and inventory accounting transactions. An already complex accounting and operational environment is also made more so by assets flowing back and forth between two very different business models, and by an at-times difficult to use ERP platform (Microsoft Dynamics NAV16). All of this, taken together, has led management to the conclusion that we have a deficiency which needs to be remediated. The initiative that executive management and the Audit Committee commissioned to resolve these challenges is named the “Asset Tracking & Valuation (ATV)” Project.
The initial phases of ATV focused on comprehensive Business Process Reviews (BPRs) covering critical supply chain and accounting activities, as well as a detailed, ongoing review of inventory transactions related to installing our products on aircraft for the first time (“installation”), as well as the removal and replacement of these products for maintenance (“swaps”). The team’s work in reviewing installation and swap transactions ultimately led the group to conclude that at the root of the various challenges were three core factors:
Insufficiently defined product costing philosophy
Poor definition and control/protection of Master Data elements in the company’s ERP environment
Incomplete, inaccurate or untimely processing of installation and swap transactions in NAV
At this juncture, the project has become both larger and more complex than management originally envisioned. As a result, in order to maintain and build on the momentum already created, the ATV leadership team is searching for a Project Manager, requiring an individual well-steeped in ERP implementations, data governance, supply chain management, and financial reporting around inventory and fixed assets.
Develops and manages overall project plan in conjunction with ATV Project leadership, including defining critical workstreams and owners, to ensure that the team is tracking on-time and on-budget to all deliverables. The project plan is held at multiple levels – annual and quarterly objectives are defined and sequenced, and detailed schedules are provided on a rolling four-week basis. Demonstrates flexibility with project sequencing/prioritization as new learnings occur over the course of the ATV Project.

Interprets, translates, and flows project requirements into the ATV Project Plan, including those from executive management and the Audit Committee. Identify & manage risk and opportunities to meet project objectives. Monitor compliance with project master plans and schedules, including milestones and performance.
