The successful candidate will be expected to develop a vigorous, externally funded discovery/translational melanoma research program focused on immune-evasion mechanisms, immunotherapy approaches for treatment of melanoma, and/or the mechanism of actions of a novel antimelanoma compounds. This position complements a major clinical emphasis to establish a comprehensive melanoma treatment center at the Simmons Cancer Institute at SIU.
- Ph.D. or MD/PhD/DVM in a relevant biomedical field.
- Postdoctoral experience commensurate with the ability to develop into an independent investigator.
- Evidence of research capabilities demonstrated by publications in high quality peer-reviewed specialty journals
- Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations
