General Job Description:
The CW26 and The U give Chicago a fresh new start to the day with The Jam TV show. Our stations morning show airs weekdays 6 am-8 am. Bold and unfiltered, the program features a combination of local and national headlines, unique weather coverage and a dedication to the Chicagoans who make the city and surrounding suburbs great. The Jam is in need of an experienced Steadicam Operator, with a strong creative camera work background and quick decision-making skills, who is looking for the unique opportunity to be a part of a motivated team.
Steadicam operator for assigned studio productions in our shows.
Lends creative input when necessary to enhance production.
Assist in any studio lighting changes or prop alterations as necessary.
Work with Stage Manager & other studio personnel to keep the studio clean and organized.
Shoot and edit video packages for air, using broadcast and DSLR cameras.
Perform live shots.
Other duties, as assigned.
Must be an efficient storyteller, with the skills necessary to redefine television in the nation’s third-largest market.
At least 1 year Steadicam experience at a network level, specializing in studio shows is preferred.
At least 3 years of camera experience for live broadcasts.
Previous studio camera, robotic camera, handheld camera, and jib camera operation is prefered.
Previous experience with studio and field lighting as well as audio gear are also preferred.
Excellent interpersonal & communications skills required.
Strong work ethic, positive attitude & leadership qualities with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities a must.
Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
Bachelors Degree required.
