BASIC FUNCTION: Our Senior IT Governance Professional is an expert in establishing and executing governance processes for large IT organizations. The role requires an individual who is technically savvy in IT Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, and Digital Design, but who also has the interpersonal skills necessary to get others to comply with governance processes. Moreover, the successful candidate will be a logical, process-oriented thinker who is capable of designing, improving, and implementing new and existing governance processes. A significant portion of the position involves leveraging governance processes to get IT product teams to build and modify systems in a way that aligns to our company’s desired Future State Architecture (FSA), despite the additional time and expense that this typically entails. However, the role also involves the implementation and execution of governance processes in non-architectural areas. Our Governance & Operations group services four IT departments, including Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, Enterprise Services Portfolio (ESP), and the Digital User Experience Team (DUET); the individual filling this role must be able to understand the highly technical processes of each in order to define and implement meaningful governance. It is also critical that this individual exhibit the project management skills necessary to plan, schedule, and drive results from others. The ideal governance professional is adept at using both the “carrot” of interpersonal persuasion and the “stick” of compliance to ensure that our IT products meet or exceed our company’s rigorous standards.

Required Job Qualifications: *Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years work experience, OR technical degree and 6 years work experience, OR 8 years work experience. *Demonstrated experience in the design and implementation of IT governance processes. *Understanding of IT system design and software design principles. *Understanding of Enterprise Architecture principles, and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). *Understanding of the development and role of a Future State Architecture (FSA). *Demonstrated experience developing, or overseeing the development of, IT Principles, Policies, Standards, and Guidelines. *Demonstrated ability to effectively “influence without authority” across multiple departments in a matrixed environment. *Clear and concise verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with all levels of management and employees, including developing and delivering presentations. *Demonstrated ability to effectively simplify and articulate complex technical concepts to a wide audience. *Demonstrated experience working closely with customers to build relationships. *Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize, and make trade-off decisions. *Commitment to teamwork and collaboration. *Analytical thinking and consultative problem solving.

Preferred Job Qualifications: *Knowledge of TOGAF or similar architectural frameworks. *Knowledge of ITIL standards and practices. *Knowledge of the Agile development methodology. *Former experience as an IT Solution Architect or Enterprise Architect at a large corporation. *Former experience in software development. *Experience with project management techniques.
