Associate Dean of the Faculty
Performs academic case management using student support and retention software. Involved in the coordination of student success and strategic care initiatives among the Office of Advising, The Learning Center, and the offices of Academic Affairs and Student Affairs.
1.Responds to Academic Alerts and Case Management for the coordinated care of student academic support. Ensures that the case is started for each academic student alert and follows up on the student as needed.
2.Responsible for follow-up and delegation of academic cases for high-risk students. Follows the status of all open academic cases and has primary responsibility for closing complete cases.
3.Directs inquiries from students, faculty and staff appropriately among the academic departments, the Advising Office, The Learning Center and the Office of Student Affairs, or to other College resources.
4.Maintains accurate student records by entering data in Navigate, Datatel, and E-Trieve document imaging system to update computer records, and run reports pertaining to academic success (e.g., follow-up and coordination of academic concerns that lead to students’ negative academic standings, etc.).
5.Coordinates with the Navigate Application Administrator and Navigate Content Administrator on maintaining current workflow and links on the platform.
6.Aids with Navigate appointment scheduling for current students.
7.Uses the technology tools available for the generation of reports on student engagement with the coordinated care system and case initiation and resolution.
8.Coordinates activities with the offices responsible for student success and support including participation in new campus retention initiatives and committee work.
9.Assists in running workshops to train faculty and staff on Navigate features and best practices for advising, as well as introduces the platform to incoming first-year and transfer students.
10.Demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
11.Supports the mission, vision and values of Elmhurst College.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Performs other duties as assigned.
1.Bachelor’s degree, Masters in Higher Education preferred.
2.Previous academic advising experience.
3.Experience with a student information system database (Ellucian Colleague preferred)
4.Experience with a student success platform (EAB Navigate preferred)
5.A strong aptitude for multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks.
6.Strong organizational skills.
7.Excellent communication and telephone skills.
8.Willing to work as part of a team.
9.Ability to stay focused and work accurately amid constant interruptions.
10.Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, accurate data entry and ability to generate reports.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object.
