Job Description

As a Signal/Systems Inspector – Rail Transportation you will have the opportunity to use your inspection expertise on transit projects in Chicago, IL. Your goal will be to support and improve our client’s oversight to ensure successful completion of project(s); thereby assisting Arcadis in growing our business as well as increasing your own professional value. If you possess solid leadership; technical, organizational, and communication skills; and have a proven track record we want to speak with you.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Signal/Systems Inspector, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:


  • Verifying that the track and signal systems’ installation, maintenance, and repairs are performed in compliance with FRA standards and in accordance with plans and/or specifications

  • Perform all necessary track/signal inspections and tests.

  • Oversee the performance of railroad contractors performing maintenance-of-way activities, including review and approval of associated invoices.

  • Provide documentation of FRA Compliant Records for signal and track system.

  • Provide monthly progress reports

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of signal and track inspections.
