Job Description

The Maintenance Supervisor will develop work plans and manage maintenance projects and records as well as spend time in the plant operations areas to study systems and equipment and develop work plans. The Maintenance Supervisor will direct the execution of all applicable work plans. The maintenance supervisor coordinates communications with outside vendors and client stakeholders in an O&M contract.

? Supervises and coordinates the work, training, and education of personnel performing maintenance in the plant.
? Ensures that all prescribed or necessary security and safety precautions are understood and strictly observed.
? Evaluates the performance of subordinate maintenance personnel and makes recommendations to the plant manager.
? Leads investigations of plant mishaps to determine root causes for deficiencies in plant productivity, safety, and efficiency.
? Ensures adequate repair parts, supplies, and services are available to plant personnel.
? Supervises the organization and operation of the plant’s preventative maintenance program and is responsible to the plant manager and the client for adequate management of repair parts inventories.

Educational Background
? High School diploma or GED equivalent.
? Technical or trade school graduate.

Job Skills / Characteristics
? Demonstrated experience with plant instrumentation and control systems.
? Experience in a plant, building, or facility maintenance background
? Sufficient computer skills and knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software for preparing work-related reports, charts, graphs, and data submittal requirements. Ability to use computer systems for preparing work orders and purchasing requisitions.
? Ability to prioritize workload in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment
? Requires excellent time management, organization and prioritization capability, and excellent communication and organizational skills
? Management of one direct-report, materials, spare parts, and supplies to support efficient and effective maintenance projects for both the Maintenance and Operations Departments.
? Prepare detailed job schedules, providing fully developed work plans for projects and environmental compliance issues
? Coordinate labor, parts, materials tools/equipment and access to the equipment
? Job planning includes estimates for labor and materials, reporting on performance against goals/estimates, maintaining records of maintenance execution, equipment histories and equipment parts usage, logistical requirements
? Manages Maintenance Projects outsourced to mechanical or electrical vendors and CMMS database
? Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.

Experience / Knowledge
? 4 years of experience as a facilities manager in a plant or large facility in a leadership role.
? Supervisory experience as a Maintenance Manager in Energy & Utilities or Engineering Services.

? Spends 50% of the time in an operations environment and 50% of the time in an office environment.
? May need to work outside in inclement weather conditions and drive a company vehicle to perform duties.
? Occasional travel for training or meetings.
? May be exposed to possible operations hazards including dust, fumes, toxic and caustic chemicals, rotating machinery, high pressure, hot or cold work temperatures, slippery surfaces, water, and electrical hazards.
? Amount of time spent – Standing: 25%; Sitting: 50%; Walking: 25%.
? While performing the duties of this job, the Operations Supervisor is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
? The operations supervisor is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch and enter confined spaces.
? May occasionally be required to lift 50 to 60 pounds.
? Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
