Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining labor standards for all pharmacy and retail activities while improving operations processes and labor costs. Responsible for managing projects, providing comprehensive Industrial Engineering consulting services for corporate business units. Develops comprehensive productivity solutions through application of simulation modeling, operations research, value engineering, information technology, work measurement, lean manufacturing, safety and ergonomics for Retail, Pharmacy, Distribution and Logistics. Responsible for interacting with project team members, including internal and external business partners. Responsible for researching, designing, analyzing, preparing and presenting company-wide metrics such as productivity data and labor cost statistics to all levels of management.

Job Responsibilities

+ Evaluates quantitatively the operational efficiencies of project processes by supporting the work flow analyses, value engineering and operational studies in Retail, Pharmacy, Distribution/Logistics, and other corporate applications

+ Forecasts financial impact of implementing and maintaining new systems from the assessment of implications of new systems, the statistical analyses and the extrapolation of necessary data and develops scenarios for future process flows, work content and process times.

+ Conducts and leads proof-of-concepts, manages logistics, leads meetings with corporate decision-makers and external vendors, provides progress updates to project team, along with detailed cost-benefits and return on investment analyses for recommendations. Ensures that project benefits are consistent with proposed operational goals and financial returns.

+ Advises, counsels, and assists Company management and clients in designing, implementing, and interpreting results of productivity studies in the operating areas.

+ Recommends selection for purchase after evaluation of new equipment regarding application fit, specification, features, functionality, and quality of product, length of warranty, standby support and cost

+ Assists with the design solutions, methods and procedures that will maximize productivity and efficiency for the entire system. Coordinates with key personnel and manages any necessary pilot runs.

+ Uses advanced statistical analysis methods, such as linear and multiple regression, continuous probability distributions applications, and data correlations to quantify project variable relationships.

+ Generates alternative scenarios, verifies outputs and presents relevant findings to corporate decision-makers once CAD and stimulation modeling systems have been used to construct optimal workstations, layouts and process flows.

+ Ensures the establishment and management of chain-wide benchmarks for pharmacy and Store Operations. Oversees the creation of “best Practices” for repetitive and labor intensive tasks.

+ Leads the generation of alternative ergonomic designs that will ensure achievement of efficient motions with minimal body stress. Streamlines all body movements by ensuring the performance of micro motion, human factors, and work measure techniques.

External Basic Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering and at least 2 years of experience with Store Operations, Manufacturing, Pharmacy or Distribution material handling systems.

+ Experience with work measurement, time studies and standard work (developing of a standard work process and implementation of that process).

+ Experience leading cross functional teams in project development and process improvements.

+ Experience with project management (for example: planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives).

+ Experience developing ways of accomplishing goals with little or no supervision, depending on oneself to complete objectives and determining when escalation of issues is necessary.

+ Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).

+ Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).

+ Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font).

+ At least 1 year of cross-functional team leadership.

+ Willing to travel at least 20% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience with operations management and quality improvement.

+ Experience developing operational layouts

+ Experience with MOST work measurement system

+ Experience in financial justifications and modeling

+ Experience with UMT work measurement

+ Knowledge of engineering and industry concepts and trends that will increase efficiency and resolve operational problems.

+ Knowledge of Six Sigma/ Lean processes

+ Knowledge of statistics, Work measurement, Queuing theory, Industrial Engineering and the latest trends and techniques.

+ Knowledge of Retail, Pharmacy, Distribution, Technical advances and regulatory issues.

+ Experience interfacing with all levels of the organization – higher levels for presentations and lower levels for statistical analyses
