Description

The Information Security Engineer (SE) performs as a top-level technical expert and internal consultant in multiple areas of the OSF Infrastructure and Enterprise Security profile. Performs as an enterprise architect who brings vision and hands on expertise in application security architecture, vulnerability detection, and system design and integration best practices. The SE is responsible for strategy, initiatives and backlog of security driven features, and working with business/technology stakeholders on prioritization. The SE will operate across organizational groups to drive standardization and adoption of common practices for application security. Acts independently or as a member of a team responsible for providing technical expertise in evaluating healthcare business implications of various technology and security implementations and making suggestions regarding technical direction. Researches, plans, designs, tests, configures and project manages implementations of new infrastructure systems, applications, and security.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate’s Degree with concentration in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or other closely related field is required, or 10 years equivalent engineering experience is required

7 years of experience in Information Technology, with 5 years being in a role such as a Systems Engineer, Security Engineer or Administrator including working knowledge of ITIL best practices and demonstrated experience with implementing and operating systems within these frameworks

Active certifications in area of discipline (minimum of 2). [Microsoft (MCSE, MCDBA, MCTS, VCP, or similar); IBM (ICSAAIX, Advanced Technical Expert – Power Systems with AIX, or similar), Storage (EMCST, EMCTA, EMCIE, or similar)].

At least two certifications in area of discipline within 18 months of hire (CISSP, HCISPP, SSCP, or similar).

Certifications must be maintained.

Microsoft Technologies (Server, Exchange, Windows, SQL, AD, Citrix, SCCM)

Virtualization Technologies (VMWare, XenServer, Hyper-V)

Unix/Mid-Range Technologies (AIX, Linux)

Design, technology roadmap, selection criteria, POC

Direct experience with anti-virus software, intrusion detection, firewalls and content filtering

Knowledge of risk assessment tools, technologies and methods

Experience designing secure networks, systems and application architectures

Knowledge of disaster recovery, computer forensic tools, technologies and methods

Experience planning, researching and developing security policies, standards and procedures

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree with concentration in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or other closely related field.

10 years work experience within a Systems Engineer or Systems Administrator role including working knowledge of ITIL best practices and demonstrated experience with implementing and operating systems within these frameworks

7 years’ experience managing supportability and troubleshooting the availability of applications, systems, and storage for high availability enterprise systems including: Storage Technologies (Tier 1, 2, 3 Storage, Cloud Storage, NAS, SAN, VM, Backup, etc.), design, technology roadmap, selection criteria, POC

3 years’ experience working with Cisco Technologies: Switches, Routers, Hubs, Load Balancers, VPNs, Firewalls, NAC, MeetingPlace, VOIP, etc.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Ability to effectively communicate to technical and non-technical audiences at all levels within the organization.

Experience in technical writing, technical research and technical project management.

Strong analytical, organizational, and advanced troubleshooting skills within multiple OSF technologies plus Feedback/Metrics collection techniques.

Experience with technologies common to Healthcare System environment required.

Advanced working knowledge of various technologies within areas of discipline.

Ability to develop test scripts, comprehensively test, and document the results of testing for the solution designed.

Sound problem resolution, judgment, negotiating and decision making skills.

Demonstrated bility to manage and deliver multiple project phases at the same time and being able to manage ongoing operational issues with longer term strategic work.

Advanced level skills to lead projects from requirements gathering, scoping, obtaining buy-in from other departments, planning, designing and implementing the technology and/or system solution.
