ABOUT THE UNIT
The University of Chicago Office of Communications focuses on building the brand, enhancing the reputation and growing public understanding of the University of Chicago, where rigorous inquiry shapes fields, creates a transformative education and experience, and confronts the most important problems of our time. Reporting to the Senior Director of Internal Communications, The Manager of Internal Communications and Content is responsible for developing and managing content for the University of Chicago s web-based platforms, primarily the new faculty and staff intranet, and providing counsel and support to schools, departments, and divisions across campus on strategies, messages, and tactics for using the University s web platforms to engage their internal stakeholders. The intranet is at the center of the University s efforts to transform its internal communications infrastructure and enhance communications with faculty and staff. It is also part of an initiative to evolve the University s web-based ecosystem, including www.uchicago.edu. This position will play a key role in launching the intranet, a new staff newsletter, and a redesigned www.uchicago.edu, including creating content and roll-out strategies and managing advisory committees and other initiatives to gather stakeholder input on the platforms. Once implemented, the position will manage operations and content for the intranet and newsletter and also support uchicago.edu, partnering with the University s schools, departments, and divisions to identify, develop, and post news and resources from across the University, and ensuring the platforms meet stakeholder needs and drive communications priorities.
