The Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at University of Illinois at Chicago seeks outstanding candidates for a Clinical Assistant Professor. This is a full-time renewable twelve-month non-tenure track faculty position with a tentative start date of May 2020.


The responsibilities for this position include:

  • Course Director for Gross Anatomy for the Allied Health Sciences (fall semester). This course provides full coverage of human gross anatomy and includes a dissection laboratory. The course is for students enrolled in the Biomedical Visualization program in the College of Applied Health Sciences, the Masters of Medical Physiology and Post-baccalaureate students in the Urban Health Program in the College of Medicine. The duties include curriculum development, lecturing, exams, and overseeing the dissection laboratories.
  • Course Director for Case Studies in Clinical Anatomy (spring semester). This is a lecture-based course, which applies anatomy to the understanding of clinical cases. The duties include lecturing and exams.
  • Course Director -anatomy component of the College of Medicine Prematriculation Program (summer). The duties for this six-week course include lecturing, overseeing peer instruction in the gross anatomy dissection laboratory and exams.
  • Lab Instructor for Gross Anatomy & Embryology taught to first and second year medical students in the College of Medicine (fall & spring semester). Duties include instruction for 23 dissection labs.


Applicants must have a PhD or MD, experience teaching human gross anatomy, and scholarly activities in the production of teaching technology materials for human gross anatomy. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
