RN Manager Clinical Operations – Access Center
The RN Manager Clinical Operations is a professional registered nurse who is responsible for the coordination of clinical care for patients treated. This position provides direct supervision for the day-to-day activities of nursing and clinical staff. The RN Manager Clinical Operations works in conjunction with the Practice Administrator to ensure all relevant and appropriate duties of patient care is carried out to achieve the objective. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
+ Manages nursing and clinical staff including hiring, orientation, on-boarding new staff, overseeing staff performance evaluations, annual competencies, time and attendance, and related activities.
+ Manages patient/clinic flow including physician schedules, check-in and check-out processes, time of service and payments on account, patient communications, referrals and pre-authorizations.
+ Coordinates nursing and clinical support staff schedules ensuring adequate coverage of required activities.
+ Reviews relevant workflows and metrics and recommends changes as necessary.
+ Provides leadership to clinic staff and serves as a liaison to other departments or divisions as appropriate to organize, coordinate and ensure timely and accurate completion of all required processes.
+ Communicates and collaborates with physicians and all other staff to ensure that the clinical facility is operating efficiently on a consistent basis.
+ Provides educational opportunities for clinical staff to maintain safe practice and professional growth opportunities.
+ Facilitates the growth and maintenance of the clinical program in direct collaboration with the Medical Director(s) physician and departmental leadership.
+ Assists with promoting the development, evaluation and maintenance of patient and staff education materials.
+ Participates in division/department initiatives under the direction of the Director of Nursing.
+ Acts as a role model for practice standards related to customer service and assures achievement by staff of RUMG Customer Service and Performance Standards. Designs, implements and supports RUMC and RUMG policies and procedures as they pertain to the practice.
+ Participates in the Continuous quality improvement process within clinic, RUMG and Rush University Medical Center.
+ Ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory bodies within area of responsibility.
+ Other relevant duties as required.
Position Qualifications Include:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required. Master’s Degree preferred. All transfers to Rush University Medical Center or Rush University Medical Group from other Rush entities must have an earned nursing degree at the baccalaureate level or higher prior to the transfer.
+ Four (4) or more years of nursing experience required.
+ Current Illinois licensure as a registered nurse required
+ Current national nursing certification OR obtain national nursing certification within 12 months of hire. Current CPR certification
+ Basic computer skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Previous management/supervisory experience.Epic/EMR experience.
