Job Description
Coordinates and facilitates Direct Admissions, ED Admissions, and Hospital to Hospital Admissions. Triages requests for bed assignments and designates patients to appropriate beds. Communicates professionally with all contacts to ensure an exceptional patient experience . Principal Duties, Responsibilities and/or Essential Functions:

Creates a positive customer and team environment through exceptional communication and interactions within the Operation Center and in every encounter throughout the SSM Health Care system.
Requires excellent oral and written communication skills promote positive working relationships with health care professionals and staff
Reports Opportunities for Improvement and/or System barriers to appropriate source and Director to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of Access Line processes and procedures
Understands Departmental Quality Outcome measures and communicates quality and safety concerns to Supervisor/Director
Contributes to employee satisfaction and team cohesiveness by participating in Departmental Meetings, providing solution focused suggestions to opportunities for improvement, and communicating in a professional manner.
Communicates with Medical Team (physicians, nurses, ED staff and/or administrative staff) regarding emergency and direct admissions based on bed availability and admission criteria to facilitate patient transfers and direct admissions.
Participates in rotation of weekend and holiday coverage to ensure fair and equitable rotation. Complies with all Departmental policies.
Performs all other duties as assigned with a cooperative attitude, such as special projects.
