Job Description

Grubhub Holdings, Inc. seeks Data Engineers II in Chicago, IL.

Work with high volumes of clickstream and event-based data to efficiently process, expose, and analyze for our front end websites and mobile apps. Collaborate with other engineering teams on strategies for streaming data. Participate in the build out of streaming technologies to gather real time data for analysis and scale. Work with cutting edge data processing technologies, including Spark, Hive, Presto, Python, SQL, AWS EMR & AWS S3 in order to process and analyze data. Understand our stakeholder (Finance, Marketing, Product) requirements and write complex and efficient code to transform raw data into an easy to approach data marts. Perform business verticals in order to understand how our Finance and Product teams use clickstream and event data to measure how well Grubhub’s products are performing. Analyze data to measure impacts of data schemas and use it to iterate on improvements. Translate data from the frontend microservices into a tabular format that can be easily analyzed.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Analytics, Project Management, Data Science, Data Analytics or related field plus 2 years of experience working with Agile software engineering methodologies; and 2 years of experience with at least one of the following: Python, Ruby, Java, C#, GoLang, or C++.
