Computer Services Technical Assistant (PT)
Part-time Support Staff
Henning Academic Computing Ctr

The part-time Computer Services Technical assistant reports to the Computer Services supervisor. This position installs and services all hardware and software as assigned at the Sugar Grove Campus.

Responsible for timely service of Technical Assistance Center (TAC) calls.

Maintain and support hardware, software, and physical environment of the computers and associated peripherals.

Install PC and MAC software and hardware.

Maintain and troubleshoot PC and MAC network software and hardware including down to the component and chip level.

Assist with the maintenance of inventory of all computer hardware and software.

Maintain proper security of software and hardware.

Assist with the purchase of hardware and software, including providing pricing for the institution as necessary.

Assist in end user telecommunication support including basic telephone, video conferencing, classroom technology support and media.

Be available for after-hours support.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred.

Minimum two years related experience maintaining computer hardware and software required.

Knowledge of computer networks, various computer hardware and software.

Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Good interpersonal and organizational skills.

Ability to interact with all levels of management, faculty, staff and students.

Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative.

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
