A lifelong learning community college instructor is an instructor hired for an individual seminar for which he/she is qualified. The instructor reports to the Personal Enrichment Coordinator, and provides quality instruction for the assigned courses. The instructor works with full-time staff in assessing students and following all course guidelines. Willingness to provide instructions at other campus sites is required.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Provide instruction using appropriate technology, appropriate and effective standards of delivery, and a variety of methods of instruction.
2.To create a student-centered learning environment that is accessible to individual learners with diverse educational needs and goals.
3.Facilitate student learning by preparing, delivering, and assessing learning activities that are consistent with approved course outcomes. Improve student learning by using a variety of teaching strategies.
4.Cultivate open-minded inquiry.
5.Encourage thoughtful, self-reflective assessment.
6.Promote cooperation and mutual respect among students.
7.Provide applicable and relevant classroom exercises.
8.Infuse multicultural and diverse perspectives into the instructional processes as appropriate, and conduct classes in a manner that demonstrates respect for individual and cultural differences.
1.One (1) year of experience in the subject matter. Certification, licensure, endorsements and related experience will be considered.
2.Experience in instructional/classroom technology.
3.Demonstrated commitment to teaching and learning.
4.Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written English.
1.Associate’s Degree in Education, subject matter, or closely related field
2.Experience with traditional and non-traditional students from diverse backgrounds.

ANNUAL CLERY SAFETY REPORT (ASR) NOTICE FIRE SAFETY REPORT (FSA) and MISSING PERSON POLICY (MPP) FOR STUDENTS RESIDING IN “ON CAMPUS” STUDENT HOUSING
Joliet Junior College is committed to assisting members of the JJC community in providing for their own safety and security. If you would like to receive the ASR, FSR or MPP in booklet form, you may stop by the Campus Police Department located on Main Campus in G 1013 or call Campus Police at 815-280-2234. The website and booklet contain information regarding campus security and personal safety such as crime prevention and reporting, police law enforcement authority, disciplinary procedures and other related security policies. They also contain information about crime statistics for the three previous years for all JJC campuses, property owned and controlled by JJC District 525 and on public property immediately adjacent to JJC campuses.
This information is required by law and is made available by the Joliet Junior College Police Department.
