Caterpillar Inc. has openings for Embedded Software Senior Engineer (Diesel Engine Embedded Software) in Mossville, Illinois. Responsible for the technical design, build and testing of library or application software used in embedded systems on diesel engines. Designing and developing software for embedded electronic control systems including architectural design of software structure and functionality, requirements development, verification and validation of software and troubleshoot software or system defects. Requires Master’s in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related degree and 2 years’ experience designing, building and testing embedded software for diesel engine or machine software, which includes use of configuration management tools such as ClearCase or GIT and workflow tools. Alternatively, would accept a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related degree and 5 years’ experience designing, building and testing embedded software experience for diesel engine or machine software, which includes use of configuration management tools such as ClearCase or GIT and workflow tools. With either combination of education and experience, must have 2 years (concurrent) embedded C programming experience.
