Job Description

Caterpillar Inc. has openings for Sr. Engineering Project Team Leader (Digital & Analytics for Energy and Transportation Power Systems) in Mossville, Illinois. Responsible for leading E&T power system analytic engineers in the design, development, and testing of predictive and prescriptive analytic algorithms, controls, and tools using telematics data to enhance product design, performance, and efficiency within engine/power system development, and to provide customers’ value-added services, recommendations, and optimized solutions for their engines/power systems, equipment, or job sites. Specific tasks will include the development of data mining processes and tools for engine data collection, aggregation, feature extraction, analytics modeling, system analysis, and reliability/durability forecasting to support engineering design, simulation, CPI, and NPI. Other responsibilities include the development of end to end telematics solutions for engines/power systems for gathering data and remote monitoring of assets; including close collaboration with cross-functional teams consisting of hardware engineers, internal and external software vendors, and UI (User Interface) developers to architect an integrated product. Requires a Master’s in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering & 8 yrs. wk. exp. in development and analysis of engines, & 4 years of (concurrent) experience in data driven engine health and condition monitoring development, which includes experience with programming languages such as Python, Matlab, or SQL, data visualization tools such as Tableau, OSI PI, or Power BI, and working with various databases. In lieu of the above, would accept a BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering & 12 yrs. wk. exp. in development and analysis of engines, & 5 years of (concurrent) experience in data driven engine health and condition monitoring development, which includes experience with programming languages such as Python, Matlab, or SQL, data visualization tools such as Tableau, OSI PI or Power BI, and working with various databases.
