MANAGER, MARKET RESEARCH AND ANALYTICS – Abbott Labs / Lake Forest, IL

Lead company market research through collection, analysis, and presentation of medical device manufacturing market insights and guidance pertinent to the company’s current and future product portfolio and marketing strategies. Conduct primary and secondary data collection and market research for transfusion medical device portfolio to gain customer and competitive insights for strategic direction and tactical planning. Conduct qualitative and quantitative research by utilizing software tools to design online and offline research questionnaires and surveys and conduct face-to-face interviews with existing and potential customers, including laboratory personnel and management, blood and plasma service management, modern technology assessment committees, clinicians, allied health professionals, and public private payors. Leverage internal sources of data to gather non-survey data, including SFDC, QTC, internal data repositories maintained in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and Power Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards. Complement missing and competing data through third-party purchases, such as BBC, IMS, PPTA. Integrate data from different sources to provide clarity and direction to multi-functional teams utilizing VBA Macro-based Excel simulators and Power BI. Utilize SPSS, R Programming, and SQL software platforms and programming to develop data modeling techniques, statistical methodologies, and analytical frameworks, including conjoint analyses, linear modelling, cross tabulations, correlation modelling, multi-variate analyses, trend-line forecasting, linear and binomial regression modelling, missing value imputations, clustering, and segmentation to collate data. Analyze market data, market trends, competitive positioning, and business metrics to translate market data analytics into projections and recommendations of future business opportunities within transfusion medical device markets.

Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering or a related quantitative or mathematical field, or in a highly related field of study with at least 5 years of experience in: (i) Conducting primary and secondary data collection and collecting quantitative and qualitative data for medical device manufacturing industry market research to gain customer and competitive insights for strategic direction and tactical planning; (ii) Utilizing SPSS, R Programming, and SQL software platforms and programming to develop data modeling techniques, statistical methodologies, and analytical frameworks; (iii) conducting conjoint analyses, linear modelling, cross tabulations, correlation modelling, multi-variate analyses, trend-line forecasting, linear and binomial regression modelling, missing value imputations, clustering, and segmentation to collate data; and (iv) consulting business stakeholders and managing multiple market research projects affecting key business decisions.
