The Position

Cleo is looking for an HR Generalist to perform a variety of support activities in the administration of the Human Resources function. Qualified applicants should showcase outstanding analytical and communication skills while being a conceptual thinker with fantastic organizational and conflict management skills.

Activities include employee relations, benefits, on-boarding, off-boarding, regulatory compliance, planning and record keeping support. This position will provide support to employees and managers on a variety of human resources issues. The HR Generalist requires daily contact with employees and a considerable degree of tact, initiative, confidentiality and discretion. To ensure success, HR Generalists should also exhibit strong decision-making skills with a deep understanding of employee relationships.

What you will be doing

+ Assists department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all company employees. Provides administrative support to human resources function as needed.

+ Prepares all new hire paperwork, enters employee in payroll system and establishes personnel file. Verifies I-9 documentation and maintains compliant records.

+ Maintains human resources records by recording new hires, transfers, terminations, changes in job classifications, merit increases; tracking paid time off.

+ Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.

+ Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database.

+ Administers health and welfare plans including enrollments and terminations.

+ Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions.

+ Serves as the Cobra Administrator for company.

+ Ensures plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and plan provisions are followed.

+ Manages annual open enrollment period during 4th quarter of each year.

+ Arranges for distribution of materials from carriers, assists with communicating changes to employees and arranges for on-site representation by providers.

+ Processes changes within deadlines.

+ Writes, revises, edits and proofreads company policies & procedures and related documents as needed.

+ Processes personnel action forms and assures proper approvals; disseminates approved forms.

+ Prepares government reports related to EEO compliance or other HR functions.

+ Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.

+ Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.

+ Performs other HR generalist duties as assigned.


+ Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field (essential)

+ 3+ year of experience in an office environment; experience in Human Resources (essential)

+ Deep understanding of Labor Law and employment equity regulations

+ Efficient HR administration and people management skills

+ Excellent record keeping skills

+ Fantastic knowledge of HR functions and best practices

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines

+ Superb computer literacy with capability in email, MS Office and related HR software

+ Remarkable organizational and conflict management skills

+ Strong decision-making and problem solving skills

+ Meticulous attention to detail
