Job Summary

Teach one or more of the following Medical Assisting science courses:
-MOA 111: Clinical Medical Asst I
-MOA 112: Basic Med Office & Billing Procedures
-MOA 115: Insurance Coding for Medical A
-MOA 211: Clinical Medical Assisting II

The courses must be taught in accordance with current program approved course descriptions, course outlines, textbooks, and syllabi. Prepare lecture and lesson plans, teach lecture and/or lab portion of class, and respond to and grade student work. Use appropriate academic software (e.g. Blackboard Course Management system, Power Point, etc.)

Required Qualification

MOA 112, 115:
Baccalaureate degree or higher and Certified as a Medical Assistant, Registered Nurse, Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) AND one year tested experience in a medical office setting and must be current and competent in the MAERB Core Curriculum objectives.

OR

Associate degree and Certified as a Medical Assistant, Registered Nurse, Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) AND two years tested experience in a medical office setting and must be current and competent in the MAERB Core Curriculum objectives.

MOA 111, 211, 212
Baccalaureate degree and Certified as a Medical Assistant or Registered Nurse and one year tested experience in a medical office setting and must be current and competent in the MAERB Core Curriculum objectives.
OR
Associate degree and Certified as a Medical Assistant or Registered Nurse and two years tested experience in a medical office setting and must be current and competent in the MAERB Core Curriculum objectives.

Ability to work effectively and constructively with persons of diverse cultures, gender identities, language groups, and abilities; demonstrate sensitivity to and ability to work with the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Competency in technologies commonly used in college level instruction.
