Within the Product Management department, the role is responsible for definition, guidance and execution of product-related activities for Discover’s EMV Contact and Contactless product portfolio (D-PAS Portfolio) and related products like Open Loop Payments/Transit through the entirety of product lifecycle, from strategy and roadmap definition to development and market readiness. Sets business objectives for the product development process and oversees execution, internal or external, as necessary. Supervises product managers and product owners. Works with minimal supervision.

This role supports D-PAS product strategy globally and needs high level of interaction with our EMV Chip and Terminal vendors, issuing and acquiring partners. Travel can be upto 20% globally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, development and implementation of new product strategy to support both domestic and international partners.
  • Grow existing and/or build new product portfolio(s) through new value added features and functionality release and enhanced customer experiences.
  • Provide vision and direction to a team of product managers.
  • Closely liaison with internal stakeholders to deliver on shared goals and priorities.

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Financial Technology, Finance, Engineering, or related field
  • 2+ years of people management, or related field
  • 6+ years of experience in Project Management, Computer Science, Payments, Technology Solutions, or related field
  • In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of experience in Project Management, Computer Science, Payments, Technology Solutions, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

If we had our say, we’d also look for:

  • 8+ years of experience in Project Management, Computer Science, Payments, Technology Solutions, or related field
  • 5+ EMV Product development experience covering both acquiring and issuing is required working for either a network scheme, acquirer or a EMV smartcard development company
  • Exposure to trade bodies like EMVCo, experience participating in a EMVCo workgroup is desired
  • Exposure to Mobile payment products is desired
  • 8+ Years Payment experience is needed
