Loyola University Chicago (LUC), Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health, Department of Health Informatics and Data Science invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor, Health Informatics and Data Science (Cybersecurity) for the academic year 2020-2021, beginning July 1, 2020. The department is located on Loyola s Health Sciences Campus in Chicago s western suburbs. Parkinson is the University s 14th and newest school, which opened in July 2019 with nearly 500 undergraduate and graduate students. The Health Informatics and Data Science department is home to two new programs: a Masters and a Certificate in Health Informatics, the first of several new programs planned. Teaching responsibilities include introductory courses in health informatics, health care technology, infrastructure cybersecurity, health information privacy, information systems regulatory frameworks (FIPS NIST), and advanced courses related to the candidate s areas of expertise at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The development of new courses in the candidate s area of expertise is expected. Applicants also will pursue an active program of research and engage in department, college, and university service. The candidate must be willing to support Loyola s mission in general and the goals of a Jesuit Catholic education in particular. In addition to teaching and conducting their own professional research, the candidate is expected to involve and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research. Candidate is expected to be highly collaborative supporting development of programs and projects across campuses, departments and disciplines.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must possess a PhD degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline, and must have strong records in both research and teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels
