Principle Duties, Responsibilities and/or Essential Functions:
Maintains the integrity of the organization and department by ensuring that all patient information is kept confidential. Serves as a resource to all customers regarding supply, instrument, equipment, and inventory items.
Maintains constant vigilance over supply costs in an effort to reduce cost of operations.
Provides assistance as necessary to business manager in building charge master and in charging inventory items. Utilizes current charging software appropriately.
Demonstrates knowledge of infection prevention, standard precautions, and safety standards by utilizing these principles in daily tasks.
Supports/oversees OR supply replenishment/availability/delivery by monitoring transactions between central supply, the purchasing department and managers in a timely manner.
Creates stock orders and analyzes surgical schedule for upcoming surgeries. Evaluates product usage patterns setting par levels for supply locations in all areas of surgery.
Communicates with perioperative nursing director, managers, and materials management staff, to discuss any foreseeable change and to discuss necessary equipment and supplies to meet the needs of the department.
Is available to hear needs and concerns regarding supply requirements of all customers. Evaluates processes in order to provide needed supplies on a timely basis.
Collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams, and continually assesses supply maintenance and replenishments. Demonstrates knowledge of equipment and supplies.
Provides information to the physicians related to changes in availability of equipment and supplies. Documents equipment and supply needs accurately as changes occur.
